"Sway” is the English version of a 1953 mambo instrumental song by Cuban composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltran Ruiz. I love to paint! My art is contemporary-figurative with a narrative flavour. A central theme of my painting practice is: ‘People at Play’. The aim of my art could be summed up as: ‘Paintings to come home to’, or ‘Day-dreams for the evening’. My paintings are generally intended to help people relax and give them an open narrative fantasy that they can escape into. My intention is that my unique style will appeal to an audience who enjoy the wistfulness of Hopper, the joyful vibrancy of Hockney and the elegant cool of vintage fashions, whist still retaining a cohesive and distinct personality of its own.
