About the artwork
Abstract rocks piled and balanced in an impossible tower, they would fall down! An impossible challenge to climb in visually soft, bleeding, natural colours and textures. Representing difficult and frustrating situations and problems in life, work, emotions and mental conundrums. Often we are set up to fail by misleading and beautiful representation which appears simplistic, gaslighting us into belief and action that leads to our demise. Painted using Holbein watercolour paints on 300g watercolour paper. Initialled and dated on the front, signed, titled and dated on the reverse. Measures: 11” x 15” Unframed and unmounted. Will arrive flat packed against card in a plastic sleeve. The Challenge

I’m a semi retired art teacher who continues to develop my skills through experimentation and practice. Originally training as a textile designer. I mainly paint atmospheric figurative pieces. Figures also appear in the abstract pieces. Colour is important and I strive to connect with the viewer on an emotional level, to have an impact. I sell work via my website and online sites and have had exhibitions in Liverpool, Manchester and London.
