About the artwork
The Nuthatch, a unique and striking bird, which climbs both up and down trees unlike tree creepers, who only go up and along, has a weakness for nuts hence its name. I have yet to see one in our garden but that would be a treat, hopefully one day. I have painted this in a more loose approach than I normally do, and have enjoyed building the textures of the feathers and the subtlety tones of the feathers and undercarriage.
