About the artwork
This diptych is a dark, moody expression of hidden feminine energy with strong witchy overtones. I wanted to make an ambiguous ritual, not based on any current practice in particular, to show the fervour behind supernatural desires for transformation. I used a special technique with this piece to create a crackled effect on the paper called 'momigami'. This is a two painting piece and the work is made to be displayed with one painting horizontally next to the other. It is unframed as 2 rolls of paper currently. I think a black wooden frame would work well. The Ritual [diptych]

Born and raised in London, I have loved art from an early age. I was introduced to Japanese art and language at school and quickly became obsessed with the way lines are used to render form. After gaining a BFA from Tama Art University in Japanese Painting in 2020, I moved back home and started working as an independent artist. I am constantly pushing my work forward and forging my unique style while using the skills I learned in Japan.
