Jessica Thacker

Artist statement: My name is Jess and I am an abstract artist, I work in various mediums but mainly acrylic. I use a lot of texture in my work and I focus on layers, flow, movement and energy. I paint to music using songs to inspire me to create each piece. I use that feeling and movement to create my personal interpretation of the song and put it on the canvas. I truly put my heart and soul into each piece, a piece of me. I dance and sing the whole time I am painting every stroke and adding detail. I hope that when someone looks at my work they feel moved by some sort of energy. If you listen to the song that the painting is dedicated to you should be able feel the energy and vibes that comes from each instrument, each note the artist sings, the lyrics and their voice. It's moving and compelling and that's what I want to give people through my art.
