My name is Shirley Johnson and I am an American fine artist living and working in Scotland. In September 2020, I ran for my life. I ran away from daily racism and hatred, school shootings, mall shootings, church shootings. I ran from a country where five year olds and their teachers can get gunned down and people stalk their grieving parents vehement in their beliefs that it was all faked. I ran from friends that joked watching a grown man cry for his mother as he lay dying had it coming to him.
