I was initially trained as a graphic designer and illustrator and have a background of nearly 20 years experience in traditional, realist portraiture and wildlife painting. Moving on from this style of working, I now embraces a looser and more free-flowing art style. The inclusion of animals in my art continues, but the energy and spirit of them, is now of more importance than totally accurate representation. Working from a studio at my home in Fochabers, Morayshire, I continue to develop my own distinctive style using intuitive mark-making to explore the interrelatedness of all things through symbolism and expressionistic displays of colour and texture in my work.
