About the artwork
When I was a child, my grandmother had a large pear tree in her garden. Under it was a table at which our entire large family gathered for dinner on summer evenings. Sometimes we stayed up late and in the evenings, when a strong wind blew, some of the pears that had not yet ripened fell from the tree right onto the table. Pears literally fell from the sky and fell into plates, glasses, and sometimes into us. The adults fussed and hurried to cover the food, and we, the children, had fun and waited for where the next pear would fall. This picture is like a memory of my joyful childhood and the pear tree. The picture is made in the genre of botanical illustration. −HAND-PAINTED: All paintings in the store are hand-painted. My name is Julia Birst. I am an self-taught artist since 2015. At that time drawing saved me from depression. Nine years have passed since then, and I can no longer live without brushes. I was born in Kazakhstan, in Almaty city; but for more than 16 years already I've been living in Berlin, Germany. The first steps in drawing I did with gouache, mastered watercolor and oil on my own, studied Chinese Wu-Xing painting and calligraphy. My skills grew and it was really important to learn how to create professional unique masterpieces. I started to learn the basics of academic painting and composition, and botanical illustration. Since then, I have been constantly studying with the world's leading artists, monitoring current trends in art, ex... (see more)
