About the artwork
I have always been an admirer of the work of caravaggio, but never thought that I could possibly paint in this way until I recently noticed that some of my own works slightly edged towards the tenebrism style. So here are artworks where I have attempted to paint contemporary intense contrast of light and dark in a caravaggio style with a heavy leaning towards tenebrism. I can only hope you like them as they have been meticulously hand painted with digital oil using a brush and palette knife, creating a unique texture and depth that hopefully captures the essence of tenebrism in a contemporary way. Born in Scotland - living and working in England for many years. I have been involved in artistic work for as long as I can remember, my father painted with oil and acrylic and I dabbled with oil. My inspiration came from my father's family who all had specific natural and self-taught artistic and musical talents. My particular talent at this time was the something that came naturally to me - the craft of copper repoussé'. I Had a permanent stall at Covent Garden market London, making and selling copper repousse' plaques.
