About the artwork
My portrait of John Lennon was also painted after watching the 8 hour "The Beatles :Get Back" documentary film from footage made in early 1969 at the time of the famous roof top concert at the Apple headquarters at Number 3 Saville Row shortly before the band went their separate ways. He, with Paul McCartney, was one of the greatest singer-songwriter partnerships in the history of popular music and their collaboration produced some of the greatest and memorable songs the world has ever heard. Until his murder in 1980 John was co-lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter with the Beatles and continued to combine these talents as a peace activist with Yoko Ono and writing such songs as "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine". Throughout his life he was seen as the most rebellious and witty member of the Beatles.John Lennon in 1969

Art and music have always fascinated me and I have been involved with them for most of my life. I have drawn and painted from a very early age and have created a diverse range of artwork in watercolours, oils and acrylics including portraits, landscapes, cityscapes , nudes, narrative works, abstracts and semi-abstracts. In my career I worked with composers, songwriters and performers, so musicians and music, past and present, have inspired a large number of my paintings. Actors from stage and screen also feature in the portraits included in my portfolio. Commissions are regularly undertaken. Painting gives me enormous pleasure and I hope others enjoy what I create. Virtually all the income I receive from sales is donated to the NHS, Ment... (see more)
