This Oil painting draws reference from days I have spent out on old wooden schooners travelling from island to island.. the flash of an espadon springing from the deep blue on a rough squally day was a moment to live for. Painted using alla prima technique with a combination of brush and palette knife. Oil Painting size; 24 x 18 inches Painted using Winsor & Newton professional Oil Paints. The 100% pure cotton stretched canvas has been gesso primed and the painting lightly varnished with Winsor & Newton Picture Varnish. The sides are painted blue and the work can be hung unframed. Picture hanging fittings are in place. Certificate of Authenticity signed by myself accompanies each original. Painting is carefully packed and dispatched promptly on notice of the order. Apart from an Art 'A' level, I am self-taught. The pleasure I derive and the passion I feel hopefully come across in these diverse subject matters and vibrant colours. Growing up in a small village in Cambridgeshire I spent long days walking and cycling out in the fields and lanes. I graduated with an LLB honours Law degree in London in 1982 Emigrating to Seychelles in 1983 I began a career in Art by default as the post I had been promised did not in fact exist! I had my first one-man expo of botanical work at Alliance Francais in 1985.followed by another in 1991. I participated in many other expos on the island.
