Elizabeth Sadler

Based in United Kingdom
Apart from an 'A' level in Art, I am self-taught. I have painted throughout my life on a daily basis and it is a source of joy and constant exploration for me. Growing up in a small village in Cambridgeshire I spent long days walking and cycling out in the fields and lanes, observing the nuances of the very rural and rather wild world around me. I graduated with an LLB honours Law degree in London, 1979-82, where I spent time in galleries, attending expos, and enjoying the buzz of the city. I emigrated to Seychelles in 1983 and embarked on a career in art by default as the post I had been promised did not in fact exist! I had my first one-man expo of botanical work at Alliance Francais in 1985.followed by another in 1991 also participating in many other expos on the island. I have had my own gallery on the island of Mahe and exhibited weekly in many of the top hotels, as well as running a farm and bringing up my two sons. I exhibited and sold botanical watercolours through Liberty's, London in 1986, at a Parallax Art Fair in Chelsea, London 2016 as well as in a Paris Gallery in the '90s I have had many patrons from various Arab State Royal Families as well as extensive sales worldwide, particularly Russia, Czechoslovakia, France, & Germany. Recently my work inspired a large glass mural for the newly opened H Resort in Seychelles. I returned to live in the Fens again in 2014 and draw inspiration from my walks and travels around GB and travels abroad. Work is on exhibition and sale in the prestigious Eden Gallery on Eden Island in Seychelles. Aldabra Clean Up Project featured as part of Ocean Rescue printed a painting done for the expedition on their Expedition tee-shirt. All my work and designs are fresh and genuinely original. Painting to a formula has never interested me as I wish to evolve and be continually excited and challenged by experimenting with techniques and ideas 'My love affair with painting sustains and nurtures my spirit daily. I attempt to hone and develop my techniques every time I engage with my work, using space to create harmony between objects. The meditative synchronicity that evolves as I paint allows me to do my most intuitive work.'
