This cheery and vibrant floral still life is characteristic of Rachel’s style. It is full of sunshine good vibes and would be a welcome addition to many rooms of the home. To create it, Rachel used a combination of acrylic paint, paper collage and then drawing marks. The “vase” has been made using the front cover of a vintage piano sheet music book. To produce these types of pieces, Rachel works intuitively and from imagination and allows the paint and paper to guide her. Rachel Davis is a Hampshire based artist and educator who for the last ten years has enjoyed creating a diverse range of works for U.K. and international clients. Whether it be an impressionist style landscape based on her surrounding countryside or a more juicy, high colour abstract inspired by her regular trips to Majorca, you can guarantee that the pieces will always leave the onlooker feeling uplifted. Floral still life is also a recurring theme but always there is colour. Rachel also teaches and is a learning in libraries tutor alongside running her own workshops and community groups. Public art and sculpture trails have also been projects that have brought a lot of pleasure to her and she is always up for the next challenge.
