About the artwork
Tiny Rider II is made of a beautiful translucent British eco-resin, allowing interesting glimpses through to its internal structure. It is mounted on a semi-translucent almost black, flat acrylic base, and is 12cm long, 9cm tall, and 5cm wide including the base. It is for sale as a limited edition of 24. It is initialled on the creature’s right side near its tail, and comes with a signed letter of authentication, stating its edition number. See my further listings to purchase any of the others in the series or the whole group together. The sculpture is relatively robust and can withstand small knocks and movements in the home. Being made in a light-weight material, it weighs less than half a kilo and is easy to transport and move about. I package it in a sturdy cardboard box and it travels very well by courier. Tiny Rider II is beautiful to live with, and provides a moment of surprise as you glimpse it running through your home, offering a chance to see things afresh. Holly Bennett makes sculpture of people, animals and unusual creatures, which she uses as metaphors to tell an internal narrative. She works with great consideration, integrity and humour, and communicates through direct visual impact and shared emotive response. She creates sculpture that is exciting and moving, and which speaks to an audience who is interested in engaging with areas of deeper significance within our lives. Holly gained a BA(Hons) in Sculpture from Wimbledon School of Art in 1995, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sculpture from The City and Guilds of London Art School in 1998, and an MA in Design from the University of the West of England in 2020. She has won many awards and exhibits widely.
