Sometimes when I walk along the cliff tops and look across the bay, I am struck by the energy I see in front of me. How do I capture this ever changing drama of light that batters my senses quite literally!? I try to see the sea, my hair is whipped across my face by the wind and catches at my eyes. When I squint into the distance, I see the light changing constantly. The sea is alive, at once savage and beautiful. I started painting as a young child and went to Art College in the UK leaving with a Degree. For a few years I concentrated on a career in graphics and my painting became illustrations instead. Since moving to live by the sea in the last few years, my love of painting has been renewed. With the inspiration of the beautiful coastline of Dorset, the continual changing sea and sky is a never-ending fascination of colour and pattern for me and I try to capture the energy and light of what I see before me. I paint in acrylics and all my paintings are individual. They seek to capture a moment in time that is unique and which can never be repeated.
