About the artwork
"To Drink or Not to Drink" serves as a thought-provoking exploration of contemporary existence, drawing inspiration from the iconic Shakespearean reflection on existence, "to be or not to be." This series contemplates a fundamental aspect of modern life—consumption—specifically, the ubiquity of canned beverages and their aftermath. In our daily survival, the imperative to consume fluids is indisputable, yet the artwork delves into the consequences of this consumption on our shared environment. The artist captures the ubiq-uitous sight of discarded beverage cans, their silent testimony to a societal habit that extends be-yond mere necessity. The series unfolds as a poignant commentary on the sheer volume of these cans abandoned thoughtlessly in public spaces, serving as both an aesthetic muse and a societal mirror. Each painting within the series emerges from a meticulous process, beginning with the artist's on-site photography of discarded cans. The subsequent transformation in the studio transcends mere representation, evolving into abstract and semi-abstract compositions. As viewers engage with the paintings, they are confronted by enigmatic amalgamations of color, form, and lines, inter-twined with the mysterious, distorted remnants of abandoned cans. Beyond the surface aesthetics, the heart of the matter unveils itself, prompting viewers to unravel the riddle embedded within the artwork. The artist's intent becomes clear—an earnest plea to raise awareness about the rampant and indifferent littering of our shared environment. From the gallery wall, the observer is invited to contemplate not only the visual allure of the paintings but also the profound message underlying the abstract amalgamation of shapes and colors. Through "To Drink or Not to Drink," the artist assumes the role of a visual storyteller, using the discarded remnants of consumption to shed light on our collective responsibility. The paintings beckon the audience to confront the consequences of our actions and to recognize the urgency of preserving our home—Earth—as the only planet we share and often neglect.Drink or not to drink- Dragon soop
