Biography In 1999 I decided to Study Art & Design (BTEC) at Blackburn College, after which I progressed to the BA(Hons) Fine Art and Integrated Media, graduating in 2004. Since then I have obtained a studio at fourTwographs Fine Art Studio, Horwich. Artist Statement There have been various influences in my work, especially from the Gothic-Romantic genre. Literature by the Bronte Sisters, Thomas Hardy and Byron enables me to get in touch with my own emotions. None more so than Wuthering Heights, with it’s dark brooding landscape. Within my work I try to capture the mood of a place rather than simply producing a topographical study. I hope to achieve this effect by the overlaying of different materials, using acrylics and varnis... (see more)
